What Is DHT And How It Affect You

how to shop DHTAccord for over ninety five percent of all hair loss cases, the best counter measure for such problem is by stopping the amount of DHT in the body as the first level of action. DHT or also known in its chemical name, Di-Hydrotestosterone , is actually a chemical product that is formed when testosterone get in contact and interact with an enzyme called 5-Alpha Reductase in the hair follicles. With over – activity occurred, the DHT will bind with the receptor cells of the hair follicles, blocking blood flow that deliver nutrients to them. This will lead to DHT hair loss as the hair follicles start to grown weaker and gradually become thinner until balding occurred. In general, DHT commonly attack the hair follicles in the temporal area first, following by the crown of the head and then the top of the scalp. The reason for such behaviour is due to the concentration of sweat glands in that area which aid in transporting DHT.

Research has shown that more men have fall under the victim of DHT compare to women in any given year. This is because a man’s body has a higher level of testosterone which is one of the main culprits that causes DHT hair loss. Although men may be the primary victims to face pre-mature hair loss or balding cause by DHT, women carry the same equal chances to suffer the same problem. When a woman is suffering from DHT hair loss, will experience it a much slower pace. Her hair will get thinner in a diffused manner and gradually lead to hair loss. Furthermore, in some cases, women may develop male characteristic like their voice become deeper, increase in muscular development and fertility problem when too much DHT activity occurred in their body.

Fortunately, scientists have discovered that DHT does not really serve any health benefits and we can all do without it in our body. So that is why more and more people are using DHT blockers to stop it production.

Type of DHT Blockers

It is not an easy task to identify which is the best DHT blocker. However, there is a general consensus that the best one is always the one that come from natural sources (natural DHT blockers). As most people believed that DHT blockers made from natural ingredients are able to provide better result with the least side effects. The active ingredients that have proven effective in blocking DHT are mainly found in 2 categories, which are the all natural and the herbal ingredients. Now we know that for DHT to appear, testosterone has to be combine with the 5-Alpha Reductase enzyme. Although both compounds are naturally produces in our bodies, only testosterone is needed for our bodies to be healthy. So the best way to inhabit the formation of DHT is by blocking the enzymes effect on Testosterone. And that is what DHT blockers seek to achieve.

For any DHT blockers to be effective, they have to act upon one of the following principals, if not all. It must be able to keep DHT from attaching to the receptors cells in the follicles. It must have the ability to reduce the formation of DHT in the body. Inhibit 5-Alpha Reductase enzymes that convert testosterone into DHT. Able to breakdown or reduce substances in our bodies that aid in the production of 5-Alpha Reductase enzymes.

Poor diet is definitely one cause of hair loss. Stress and anxetiy is another big one. The actual main reason is a build up of DHT (dihydrotestosterone). There are natural DHT blockers available like Saw Palmetto. But to really reverse hair loss you need to lower the DHT level on your scalp and use a product with Minoxidil in it.Provillus is a popular one and they have a lot more information on their website about hair loss. You might check it out. They give away free trials too.

i am a 45 year old man and in general good health, i take coumadin( blood thinner) because of a car accident, i have noticed that my frontal scalp all of a suden over a few months has started to thinn which is very distressing to me, big time (just started a new relationship) any and all advice would be greatly appreciated

Hi Daniel, thank for stopping by. I afraid taking DHT blocker products might not be any help to you if your condition is not caused by DHT. My advise would be to consult your doctor about the main cause (if it due to coumadin), he should be able to recommend a lesser dosage of coumadin or an alternative.

      Anyone have any advise?

I am female, 56, and take bio-identical hormones with added testosterone (which I LOVE because it keeps my sex drive going). I am extremely healthy and fit. All my blood tests come out absolutely normal, but my hair is falling out. The hair loss did not start when I started taking the testosterone. It started when my hormones were dramatically changed by an incompetent person almost 3 years ago. Since then I found another hormone specialist who “fixed” everything and I finally feel good again.

I do take 540mg of Saw Palmetto everyday along with Biotin, Resveratrol, DIM, Indol-3-Carbinol, B-Complex, Natural E-complex w/beta, delta, gamma…Coral Calcium Complex, lots of Vit. D… but my hair is still falling out. Recently started taking 225mcg of Norwegian Kelp to see if that would help.

I do NOT want to block the effects of the testosterone. For the 1st time in my life I have a sex drive, and it also gives me energy, clarity, muscle tone…and so on.

Do DHT blockers block the testosterone? Or do they just block the testosterone from binding with the receptor cells of the hair follicles?

Just wanted to add, I am basically a vegetarian, but make a very healthy protein shake every morning that has 25g of protein (Isopure). I weight 120lbs and am 5’5″.

I am honestly stumped as to what to do.

Hi Paula, thank for stopping by. DHT blocker is actually a 5 Alpha Reductase inhibitor, its main purpose is to block 5 alpha reductuse from binding with testosterone. It has no known effect on testosterone as we understand. However, always consult your doctor or specialist before taking any hair loss supplements which you maybe foreign to.
